The Travel Consultant is responsible for creating memorable travel experiences by providing expert advice and personalized itineraries. This role is crucial in enhancing customer satisfaction and loyalty through tailored travel solutions that meet clients' needs and preferences.
- Consult with clients to determine their travel needs, preferences, and budget.
- Research various destinations and means of travel regarding prices, customs, weather conditions, reviews etc.
- Plan and sell transportations, accommodations, insurance and other travel services.
- Provide relevant information to travelers about local attractions or events.
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best rates for clients.
- Handle unforeseen problems on behalf of customers when they arise during trips.
- Maintain client files with all necessary documentation.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using booking systems like Amadeus or Sabre.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a high level of customer service.
The Travel Consultant's performance is evaluated based on client satisfaction scores, successful itinerary completions without issues, repeat business from satisfied customers, and meeting sales targets for bookings made within specified timeframes.
