The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the company's network infrastructure. This role ensures reliable and secure network operations to support business activities and enhance communication across all departments.
- Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN).
- Configure and install software, servers, routers, and other network devices.
- Monitor network performance to ensure system availability and reliability.
- Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes, etc.
- Troubleshoot network issues within established guidelines.
- Collaborate with IT team members on projects related to networking needs.
- Implement security measures to protect data from unauthorized access.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols such as TCP/IP or BGP/OSPF.
- Proficient in using networking tools like Wireshark or SolarWinds NPM.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
The Network Engineer's performance is evaluated based on the uptime of the company's networks, successful implementation of new technologies without disruption, quick resolution of any outages or issues that arise within agreed timelines.
